Our Journey

Positive Pathways journey first started as a Nurture centre in Blue Sky Learning in 2022. After two years of successfully supporting children back into education our CEO Kirsty Burridge along with our Centre manager Emme Farr decided to open the doors of Positive Pathways with hopes of being able to support more children and families with its own building and dedicated team of learning mentors.

Thrive

At Positive Pathways, we work as a team to provide exceptional pastoral care that is based on the individual needs of the children. We constantly reassess the support we provide to ensure we are helping children to develop socially and emotionally. We work alongside families to ensure a comprehensive approach to supporting each child and this input from families is both essential and invaluable.

Pupils at Positive Pathways are supported through a variety of interventions and in a variety of ways. Through:

  • Support with social and emotional issues that can be accessed through whole setting Thrive Activities, working with all staff and their peers.
  • A structured and personalised approach with time both in and out of the main room using  thrive activities, often based in the Rainbow Room with our Thrive Practitioner Emme.
  • Daily focused and regular interventions to support difficulties they may be experiencing.

Our Team

Our team consists of qualified and motivated professionals, who are passionate about supporting our pupils in their journey.

Safeguarding

Keeping children safe at Positive Pathways is not only part of our culture but an utmost priority.

The safety of the pupils and the families we work with are a priority to us all – IT IS EVERYONE’S RESPONSIBILITY.

The Head Teacher, Mrs Burridge oversees all safeguarding concerns. Mrs Emme Farr is the Designated Safeguarding  Lead (DSL)  with Claire Scott and Kirsty Burridge as Deputy Safeguarding Leads (DDSL) at Positive Pathways. Any concerns in provision are reported to them.

Due to the vulnerable nature of our children and their difficulties and some challenges with communicating, it is not uncommon for a member of the safeguarding team to follow up a potential concern with parents – often to simply clarify what a child may have communicated to someone. This is their legal responsibility and we appreciate your understanding that your child’s wellbeing is of the utmost importance to us.

What to do if you have a safeguarding concern:

If you have any concerns at all, please contact a DSL or DDSL as soon as possible.

Should your concern be in respect to a member of provision staff, then contact the Head Teacher immediately.

However, if you have a concern about the Head Teacher, then please contact the DoFA at Wiltshire Council.
